When did Volvo change their extended warranty package? It used to be you could buy an additional 3 years or 36,000 miles if you got it before a 1000 miles before you turned to 48,000 or 6 months before the warranty ended. (Whichever came first.) Well I called my Volvo dealer last week and he said "sorry'. "Tough Luck" I have a V70 98 with 45,000 miles on it. He said Volvo dropped their extended warranty and you had to buy it before you hit 36,000. Now Volvo never told me that and I never got anything in the mail. Has anyone else run up against this. It is "BS" in my book. It appears Volvo is bailing out and has no faith in the longevity of their calls. I have had a series of Volvos for 25 years. A month ago I purchased a V70-T5-01. (Great car) and traded in a 95 850 turbo.

Any suggestions for after market extended warranties such as GE. And do most dealers honor them. Like to keep the V70 98 for another 4 or 5 years.
