Radio trouble: any hope? 850 1995

For the last few months the FM section of the SC-710 unit has been cutting out. Usually, it will not respond upon the first start of the day, but will come to life after a few minutes. AM works fine, as does cassette. Now it is getting worse and has gone the whole day without FM working at all, dead silence. It did just come on as wife was pulling into the drive, and works for me sitting in the garage.

Antenna connections and wiring are solid. As I said, AM works.

Anything else to check or possibly repairable inside the unit? It is the base unit, not the "premium sound" unit. Anyone been thru this problem with success?
