Good used Volvo for a teen

Hello,

I'm the parent of a 16-year-old. We used to have a 1990 760 GLE that served the family well for 16 years. I have convinced my teen to consider a Volvo but need to know which of the 2000's models are the most dependable and which models should be avoided. My requirement is a side-curtain airbag. We've been looking at 2002 S60s. Any comments?
