After my last little go-around with a possible fuel pump relay failure, my paranoia makes me think I should be carrying around a used fuel pump in case it turns out not to the the FPR after all. I new fuel pump is almost $500. The way my luck runs, the day after I bought one I would total the car, and the new fuel pump would probably not fit the later model I would pick up. There seems to be controversy on used fuel pumps, seals drying out, etc. Can you pick one up at a wrecking yard with a reasonable expectation after a couple of years, that it would still work if you had to install it (assuming that it worked in the first place)?
