My wife has been complaining about the smell of gasoline when she gets into the car. I was checking it out today and the smell seems to be coming from the area of the gas tank. No apparent leaks or staining. In the past we had a cel for small evap leak. The first was about a year ago. Cleared the code and the light has been out until about 2 months ago. I found the gas cap gasket cracking and replaced the cap and the light has not come back. No light now, just the smell of gas. Any suggestions on what could be the cause?
