I'm new to this board and have a question about the right front outer tie rod. My car failed its safety inspection today for a faulty RF outer tie rod. The tech said it was a dangerous situation(although I have 60 days to get it fixed). I recently had a 70,000 mile service. They replaced a torn RF outer CV joint and repacked the joint. Do these two things have anything in common? My gut feeling tells me they do, but I'd like to have more info. before I start talking to the dealer about it.
Any help about this would be greatly appreciated.
