prop shaft V70-XC70 2000

I found the source of the clinking in my car. It was the front joint on the rear prop shaft coming out of the angle gear. I removed the shaft this afternoon. So I now have a FWD. Besides the obvious, it's not an AWD anymore, what are the pros and cons to leaving that shaft out?
