Wanted: Feedback On V70 AWD! 850 1996

I am a longtime(since 1978) Volvo owner so I am familiar with the brand but wanted feedback from owners specifically about the AWD models. I am considering getting a 1998-2000 V70 AWD and wanted to know about any problem or shortcomings related to the XC, AWD or AWD R. I have not settled on a particular car, but whatever car is chosen, my wife will be driving the car and I'll be moving on to her 850 wagon.

Also if anyone has a lead on a low-mileage car within 200 miles of Washington DC, please let me know.
