Trunk Lite on w/ Open Trunk?? 850 1997

I've noticed my trunk light doesn't come on when I open the trunk. Ok, I thought, it has a three-way switch like the dome light, on/off/door. Nope, just on/off. Old Civics have trunk lights that come on when you open the trunk. What gives?
