I've had my XC for nearly 4 months and so far I love this car. Just now getting the opportunity to test the AWD ability as winter is arriving here in Syracuse, NY. We have had snow for the past 3 weeks but only in the past few days is it causing any driving problems. What I need to know is if there is a recommended "winter" tire pressure. I know that the Volvo recommendation is for 29psi both front and rear for a light load and 35 front and 38 rear if the load is maximized. Is there a good all around pressure for winter driving with an average load, 2 adults and 2 children, total weight 475 lbs.? I'm looking for an ideal handling and traction combination. I read somwhere that softer tires are best for snow driving but I can't remember where I saw that info. Any feedback on this subject will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tom.
