ABS Brake malfunction 850 1996

Every now and then I have a problem with my abs. As I come to a gentle stop, the pedal shutters and clicks as the abs activates for no apperant reason. If you don't push the petal down all the way, a clicking sound can still be heard in the engine bay. Anybody ever had this problem or know of a fix for it?
