Difference betwwen analogical speedometer and digital trip computer 850 1994

Hi you all.

I notice a difference between indications from my 850T’s analogical speedometer and digital trip computer.

When I drive in highway (with cruise control “ON”, to keep a constant speed), I look at the analogical speedometer: it indicates EXACTLY 130 km/h (pointer perfectly vertical). Then I reset my trip computer. At in a few seconds, it gives me my average speed (but if the speed is constant, then average speed = instantaneous speed, or I wrong?).

Well, the digital computer says “125”, and the number doesn’t change (remember, the cruise control is “ON”).

Testing at top speed (without cruise control), the speedometer shows 240 km/h (my engine is B5204T, Italian version for law taxes; Volvo declares 230 km/h); the trip computer never more than “225”. A big difference!

What do you think about?

Thanks in advance. Bye.
