timing belt tensioner S70 1998

Had timing belt and tensioner changed with water pump at 100K. Changed only the timing belt at 170K but not the belt tensioner. I have a feeling this was a mistake. I saw in forums a tensioner can last 70 to 150k. Should I have replaced the tensioner? Thank you
