The blower motor on our '95 855T (90k miles) failed after making noises for a few days in cold weather. There is a "411-blower fan seized or drawing excessive current" code on the B1 connector. I have a replacement motor and a time over the holidays to make the changeover.
In research here and at Volvospeed, and in the Haynes manual, there are references to a "controller", "power stage" and "heater fan motor resistor." A few messages said it should be tested and/or replaced when the blower motor is changed.
If I am replacing the blower motor, and "B1-411" is the only diagnostic code, should I still worry about the "controller"? If the controller was bad, wouldn't I get the "B1-418-no control signal to blower fan power stage" or the "B1-419-faulty diagnostic signal from blower fan power stage"?
....Merry Christmas, Rich S.
