This is my first winter with my '04 XC70, and have been amazed with its sure footedness. However, I have noticed a slight flare or hesitation when shifting between second and third when the engine is cold. Generally it happens when the temperature is about 35 - 40F or lower. After a couple minutes of driving and a few shifts, the problem goes away, and all is good. I did a little research and saw a number of references to the B4 Servo Cover being a problem. However, the references indicate it was a problem with 2001 and 2002 cars. My car is a 2004, well outside the time period in the references. Is the B4 problem really restricted to the early P2 cars, or is it also a problem with older cars? Anyother thoughts on this problem, especially given its temperature sensitivity.
