Advice for New Buyer?? V70-XC70 1998

I'm looking at buying a '98 V70 for my wife, and would love to get feedback from those of you who own this car. Cost on these is ~$5k more than a '01 Taurus wagon with 24v motor, ABS, Traction Control, etc., but I like the way the Volvo feels. Currently my wife is driving a '89 VW Golf, and I drive a '90 535i (awesome car, and with snow tires it's great in Chicago winters).

For the V70,

- How easy is it to add the 3rd seat, and are the parts available (junkyards, etc.)?

- Any reliability issues?

- How is the car to live with, day to day?

- Any advice on my purchase? (what to look out for, etc.)

- Anyone have a '98 V70 with a dark interior, FWD, 2.4l light turbo motor in the Chicago area for sale?
