I appreciate those of you who addressed the problem I experienced re: both of my headlights going out. As it happens, both of the headlight bulbs were burned out, and replacing them solved the problem. I was rather incredulous when this proved to be the solution, and asked the dealership how often that's happened. Their response was basically, "not too often, but it has come up in the past."

The recall relating to a headlight switch for my model year apparently wasn't pertinent either. I was informed by the dealer that my particular VIN wasn't involved in that recall.

So, it is possible for both headlights to burn out at the same time, and replacing the bulbs solves the problem...at least for now.
