AC coolent disappearing S70 98

Folks-

35K dealer noticed AC coolent was gone. Refilled under warranty with dye to find leak. 45K engine started making funny noise when first started, I complained to the dealer, dealer found nothing. 60K checkup I again mentioned the funny noise, this time the dealer says the noise is due to the AC collent being completely gone which causes the compressor to make funny noise at startup. Same dealer refilled with dye again ($290.00) to find the leak.

Any suggestions for the Volvo mechanic?
