Today I looked at an 06 XC90 with the 2.5T engine, I made sure to avoid the T6.
It's beautiful, red exterior with a very clean tan leather interior.
The engine has been rebuilt by Volvo, the rest of the car has 120K on it. I drove it around for a good half hour. It has nice pick-up, shifts extremely smooth and there aren't any check engine lights. Takes bumps nice, and the brake pedal is nice and firm. The car is AWD, although not extremely necessary in NE, I think it would be helpful. I'm not really looking for a snow car, so I'm not concerned about the performance of the AWD system. However, I do not know if it is a problematic system. I believe it's Haldex, which I thought was supposed to be reliable. Any input about that? Also, the tranny is an AW, correct? So I don't think I need to worry much there, they're supposed to be reliable.
Is there anything else that I should be careful of after purchasing this? I would also like a wagon, but there aren't any good ones I've driven, and the 90 is very spacious and quiet. If anyone can add something about their experience, or what they've heard and any precautions I'd be very grateful! Thanks!
