I still have the problem being unable to move the shifter from Park to Drive. I don't want to break it, but it won't budge. Now, if I put the ignition key in position I, engine will shut off. At this point I can press emergency shift unlock button with one hand, and move the shift lever from park to any position just fine. It is here I put the shifter (per suggestion of others) in neutral and hit it from the top. This didn't fix anything. I'm not sure how much force to apply while hitting. Are there intructions how to open the console and get to this shifting mechanism? Thanks again in advance!
