A few weeks back there were several posts regarding the lack of a manual gas door release for S70's. I did not see a follow-up on this, so while at my dealer I asked, due to my concern. My sales representative showed me the button that holds the right rear trunk lining. Unscrew that, peel the liner back and you will see a white plastic solenoid near the inside of the gas door. On the front of the solenoid there is a black trigger, pull this to the rear and the gas door will open. He also said, some had a string where you access your rear taillight bulbs at the right rear corner. He fished around on an S60 and showed me the string with a little white tag with a gas pump on it. The way he described it is, that some S70's may be that way. He agreed the 850’s were easier to access.
