Oil under the Top Cover 850 1996

Getting to know the new plaything... used '96/850 GLT at 83k...This is not the same car as my '87 240:

Removed the top cover over the spark plugs to find oil pooling in the depressions on top and behind the spark plug wells. Should I assume sloppy oil change practices on the part of the local grease idiots or worse? What to look for?

What do I do about a radio code that won't work? I replaced the battery, called the dealer, got a code, and all I get is "EEEE" on the display?

In my explorations and work this weekend...I found the oil drain plug nearly boogered into round (PIA to change the oil, found a plug at O'Reilly's) and the battery took almost a quart of water to restore level. It was near dead, so I replaced it. I never use "quickie lubes" for those reasons. Brakes needed to be replaced, so that's done. Spent the money for a new set of belts - timing and serpentine, flushed the transmission, and had the leaking transaxle seals replaced. Used only OEM parts from Don at Topping Volvo.
