Well, after many many years as a Volvo driver - having started with a 240DL, then a 740 Turbo, an 850 wagon, an S70 and finally an S40, I bought a FORD! yes the new Ford Focus seduced me with its high ratings for reliability, safety and its nice ride and good looks. I never thought I would buy an American car but the Honda Fit and the Toyotas just felt cheap when I was used to Volvos. The Ford felt solid and quality.

We're going to be putting our 2001 S40 up for sale, with 98k or so miles on it - it has been the most reliable car I've ever had but we don't need 2 cars my husband takes the train to work. I have never had a brand new car before, and the new Volvos are just too expensive for what you get IMO.
