After some hard debate and thinking I traded my 98 XC in to the local dealer. I have a used 07 S60 2.5T in its place.
It was a tough choice, getting rid of a car that was incredible in the snow but I had some things needing attention. Alternator was whining, lower left control arm, drivers heated seat element (I know...once you have it you need it :) and then the non working AC...evap sprung a leak and the compressor needed a little bread tag fix. Knowing the repair of the above items would run some sweet cash, and paired with the fact I needed new snows I decided it was time to move on.
Again a very tough choice and the local dealer stated he was actually going to use the car in his family, but I have to say "oh, hello S60"
Despite still being a LPT I have to say it has way more to give than the XC in all aspects of acceleration. I know its due to the fact maybe I needed a tune on the XC, the turbo may be a little tired, and the S60 having a 5spd auto with no AWD...but still its quite fun. Handling is a dream and its nice an tight when cornering.
So, now, lots to learn in the S60 thread so I guess I will see you all there! Trying to figure out why both the filler cap and book states Volvo recommends Castrol. Either a marketing ploy or perhaps a legit reason? I was going to do a nice AutoRX treatment and then start running Mobil 1 but have to learn why not only the book says Castrol, but also the filler cap?
Thanks to the contributing members in the x70 thread that have helped me, its much appreciated!
Regards
Steve
