Tires wore evenly until Volvo did an alignment. 850 1995

I had a cracked rear delta link replaced 13,000 miles ago (2 years) and an alignment was required, maybe for as much as $150. All tires had always worn evenly up until then. (I did pick up on the broken delta link due to a feathering on a rear tire, or was it because the wheel moved when I loosed the brake bleeder valve?) Now my right front is showing much higher wear on the outside , as if the car had positive camber.
1. What equipment do I look for when looking for an alignment shop? 2. Volvo dealers probably don't invest in top alignment equipment. A wheel bearing is noisy when turning right - 3. would this require another alignment? Car has 108k miles an steers pretty precisely.
4. is an alignment violent - I had rear tie rods out of an old audi quattro and they wouldn't budge - some claimed i needed a real hot torch, I imagined melted end boots. My propane torch did nothing. The sleeves must seize up so imagine my 17 year old volvo would need big heat.
