dust/dirt in rear fuse area S60 2007

All,

Poked around into the trunk to get the ID number for the OEM Sirius satellite tuner and noticed a fair amount of dust in the area. To get access to this area you pop off the little "cover" which then allows you to see the area for where the rear fuses are, back of taillight assy and the location of where the OEM Sat tuner is. The dust is not excessive but is pretty much on top of everything. A quick wipe down would clean it up but of course I am now curious....

On the oppose side there is not much other than access for the fuel cover release system and the right rear taillight but again there is some dust/dirt in that area. On both sides towards the bottom are those little "vents" that I assume the rubber flaps "open" while driving cause a natural vaccum in order to pull fresh air from the front vents eventually exiting the rear of the car. I am wondering if others have noticed such "dust/dirt" in this area and if it accumulates here as its where the air "leaves" the car. What is odd is that this dust seems to be throughout the area...rear brake light housing, fuse panel in varying amounts. I noticed while taking the photo that it doesn't seem to take much to allow those "flaps" to open. Provided it was windy out, trunk was open allowing for air movement but am also suspecting perhaps the PO was in a dusty area...when it was windy the air would enter the left flaps, exit the right side when the car was not moving. There is no sentiment of water damage, or areas where it appears muddy, just a nice fine distribution of dust/dirt. You can see that rear air exit / flap setup just beyond the sat tuner (appears black)

I took a photo of the dust on the sat tuner (which works fine)...guess there could be explanations such as noted above, maybe dusty previous area where PO was, etc

Thoughts? Other S60 owners have anything similar? My car has 65k. First thing that popped into my head was I hope this was not a flood car, carfax clean, never in a flood prone area (in Connecticuit)...but that doesn't mean much. Everything else in the car does not show signs of said dust, or possible damage...even pulled the rear seat out to check under the rear carpet and foam (paranoia thinking possible flood car).

Regards
