Long time to prime and crank 850 1995

1995 854T 200,000 miles

I'm curious about how long an 850 fuel pump usually takes to prime after turning to KPII - but not starting. It seems that ours takes almost about 6 - 7 seconds to prime.

Then the engine will need around 3 - 4 seconds of cranking to start.

Maybe it's normal, but both waiting periods seem unusually long to me. I'm used to most cars that will take maybe 2 seconds to prime and then barely need to crank to start. Just seems like a long time.

The records I got with the car say the filter was changed about 30K ago. It does look pretty rusty, but a few New England winters will do that. There's new plugs, cap, rotor and air filter.

The car is not here and I haven't had a chance to check fuel pressure yet. Can't remember, does an 850 have a schrader valve on the fuel rail like a S40? That makes it awfully easy to check the fuel pressure.

Fuel pump is not noisy, but I think it is the original.

The car runs pretty well, but I just hate to have to crank it so much to start.
