Side window molding replacement 850

I'm in the process of "refreshing" a neglected low mileage 97 850 for my kids to use. The mechanicals are finally in order and now on to detailing and cosmetics. Most of what I have planned is fairly simple cleaning, detailing and pick n pull replacements. But one thing I have not had with my other 3 850's is what appears to be a deforming window moulding. This is the black rubber piece that is at the bottom of the window glass (exterior). The one in question is the drivers side rear door. It seems like there is metal encased in the rubber molding and it is "bubbling" and deforming slightly from what seems like rust inside the trim piece. I have't seen any write ups on these and before I start pulling this trim off I wanted to see if anyone has done this before. It looks like a simple pull off and push down the new piece on the door.

Any experience with removing these trim pieces is greatly appreciated.
