Took my 1999 S80 in for 25K mile service today. Made the appointmnet, asked for and got commitment for loaner car. Dropped car off early morning, good check-in - they knew me by name, had my car's record up on the computer, asked a few questions about what needed to be done. Walked me out to the loaner car, which was already started and idling, the heater running, with seat heaters on 2nd position (this is upstate New York in February.) The loaner car was a new V70.
Got a call mid-afternoon that the car was ready, went to pick it up, all service was completed, car was washed and ready. Washing the car is at best a nice gesture that lasts about 25 feet of driving this time of year in the salt and slush, but it is good to get the old salt off before applying a new coat.
We all hear many times about lousy dealer service. Here's an instance of a service event done well - it can be done! Hats off and kudos to the folks at Serafini Nissan-Volvo, Vestal, New York.
