Hello again lads.
During a 40 mile commute yesterday, my trusty 850 developed a shudder or vibration at 45-50mph and above. Looked at the tires on the way home, and didn't see any obvious issues.
I've had a CV joint problem on the drivers side for the last few weeks, but haven't gotten around to servicing it.
The vibration seems to be coming from the rear, as the steering wheel isn't
really shaking in my hands. Just a subtle shimmy. The sudden appearance of the vibration has me concerned about where to look.
I guess I'll jack up the car and see if a tire is getting out of round.
Can a bad (clicking on sharp turns) CV joint suddenly send this mystery vibration throughout the car? Or do they take longer to fail?
Should I concentrate on the tires, or CV joint?
Thanks in advance, again.
