850 stalls fatally - dealer can't find trouble 850 1995

My 1995 850 glt automatic wagon has been doing this nasty trick for my (un)amusement

when sitting for 3 days it starts fine, runs fine for 5 minutes, then starts to idle rough, then stalls. It will NOT restart until completely cold, and then runs fine. This always happens in the afternoon. It has happened 10 times, and is getting to be very frustrating.

Other characteristics: it will run revved up in neutral a-ok, but when shifted back into gear it dies. Battery has been changed. This was the brainiac dealer's solution.

it happens winter and summer. It used to correct itself if I sat with the car revving for 5 minutes, but not anymore.

Any help anyone can giving tracing or solving the problem will be assured a place in the volvo part of heaven.

I don't wan't to start replacing ecu/sensors willy nilly but it is starting to look like that is the only solution, unless someone hear can help! Please!
