High Fuel Pressure...? S70 1998

My "CHECK ENGINE" came on and I took the car in for a diagnostic and I am told the codes were for "too rich" on the fuel mixture, adjustments were made and the light reset. Next day light comes back on this time the only other problem found was Volvo specs have the "fuel pressure" to be between 42-44psi, the actual reading was 48psi, is this enough to make the light come back on (it is) and will this cause damage to the engine? If the fuel pressure is a problem would it be a good idea to replace the fuel regulator? This technician seems to think this is not a serious problem...

Please advise me as best you can on this matter. The car runs as fine as always just that the light is on; it has 62,000 miles.

Will
