Decisions Decisions - HELP!!!!! 850 1997

I had my heart set on finding a yellow 95 T-5R Wagon and have gone after three only to find all sold already.

Now I am looking at a 68K mile 1997 850R wagon. The price we negotiated is a seemingly decent/low $16K. My credit union would loan up to $23K for this car!

Now the miles.... is 68K in volvo land alot of miles?? What standard repairs will be needed right away or in near future?? The owner has just done rotors and pads all around, thats all for recent repairs. What other big ticket items will be on the horizon??? Shocks? When does timing belt/waterpump normally go?

I have only driven VW watercooled since 1985 so am really new to Volvo.

Any advice you folks can offer will be greatly appreciated
