V70 maybe? V70-XC70

I'm looking at possibly trading my beloved Jetta TDI and getting a 98ish V70. The Family doesn't fit real well in the VW. I've got an 88 240 wagon that is still a project but it's coming together. Should I steer clear of Turbos? I have no need for AWD nor the dough. It's a forgone conclusion that if I make the move a V70 in the one but giving up the performance of my TDI is a tough chioce to make.

Any thoughts?
