Problems with the Trunk Opener... C70 1999

Recently, I've been having trouble with the trunk. When I use the trunk open button on the side of the driver's door or either with the remote, the trunk does not open. Sometimes after 2 tries, it still does not open. I would say that the trunk would finally open after an average of 3 tries. Once it opens, then I wouldn't have trouble with it, until I drive the car again...and then stop the car to open the trunk.

I took it in to the dealer to get it fixed, but since the technician did not actually see it happen, they are not willing to replace the trunk opening unit. They gave me some BS about how they have to try to fix it before they can replace the unit. I know that this thing happens everytime I drive the car and then park to open the trunk. Even when I picked up the car, I showed the shop foreman and it did not open. After the 3rd try, it opened and then it kept on working.

I really don't know what the policy is on Volvo service, but shouldn't they be able to at least fix something or if they don't know how to fix it, have it replaced?? I mean, it shouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the problem has to deal with the hinge unit on the trunk.

I was also wondering if anyone else knows another dealer around Pasadena other than Rusnak where I can get this fixed.

Thanks!!
