The window sticker for the new XC70 has 18/24 MPG. I just wonder how real this is. If it is accurate, should I complain to Volvo that the MPG has gotten worse since the 5 cyl, which would get me 28 mpg highway? Or are the new Fed testing guidelines too pessimistic?
I cannot conceive of a 'road' car getting only 400 miles per tankful. The speed limit west of the Mississippi is 70mph and most of us 'left laners' do about 75-80 indicated.
I don't mind getting 20 mpg around town while doing errands and such, so long as I only need to tank up once a month. But driving from MPLS to CHI (420 miles) would mean that I would be forced to tank up in Wisconsin or the IL toll road at Belvedere.
