Well, the 2002 S60 is about to go belly up because of the transmission. The mechanic said it was going to be $5100 to get it fixed and that was only if all the work got done at once to minimize duplicate labor charges. The slamming in gear of the transmission has ruined a number of motor mounts and the like so electing not to put that money into the S60 we went on a hunt for a newer used Volvo.
I was looking for a 2001 v70 T5 and found one in Pasadena, CA. The local Volvo dlr was just a couple of blocks away so I took it there to get it check out. Accident, sub frame bad, $4000+ to get it fixed. While there a salesman got me and showed us an xc70 that had just come in that day. It seems that this older couple, yes, a little old lady from Pasadena, came in with their 04 xc70 and 06 S60 t5 and traded them in on an xc60. In short, it's the nicest 8 year old car I've ever seen. No wear on the leather, 52.5K on the clock. A beauty for $10K. Control arm bushings to be done. 2.5t engine. Couldn't be happier. Was almost scared to drive it, it looked so good.
BTW, the 06 S60 t5 has only 15K on the odometer. Yes, 15K in 6 years. They've priced it at $14991. It's almost a brand new car. It's on autotrader as we speak. Rusnak Volvo in Pasadena, CA
Sorry no problems here just pleased to be in the right place at the right time to take advantage of a good deal.
