Roof Racks and accessories V70-XC70 1999

About to acquire Volvo Eurorails to put on my 1999 V70 (it has the slots for the rails). Trying to decide whether or not to acquire the crossbars at the same time. Has anyone come across aftermarket bicycle or ski holders that attach directly to the factory crossbars? I know Volvo sells factory accessories, but I balk at the cost. The reason I ask is that I hope to avoid having to put a rack on top of the factory rails in order to tote stuff on the rooftop.
