Nivomat: Replace w/ Bilsteins? 850 1996

I am looking to replace my rear Nivomat suspension system with a full set of Bilsteins and Eibach springs (all around). However, I have never attempted this. Can someone tell me if I can simply take out the Nivomat systam and make the modification? My '95 T-5R was obviously a piece of cake. The '96 R Wagon has the Nivomats and looks to be a bit more involved. Maybe not? Am I concerned for nothing? Thanks for the help.
