The XC90 has become too technology laden these days, perhaps. Maybe it's so Volvo can sell more parts. I've been told by dealerships and Volvo Int., that with a known problem, the Integrated Audio Module (IAM) failing, causing the loss of AM radio only (just about the only thing I listen to), I have to replace the entire 2-din, tuner and CD stereo system for about $600, pay for installation ($150) and new software ($50). This is ridiculous! I supposedly cannot put a used unit in as it is coded to its original vehicle. With the fiberoptics and integrated systems, I can't use an after market stereo either.
What are my REAL options? Have any of you had success in repairing a damaged IAM?
