Check Engine - What Happened? S40-V40 2001

I've had my '01 v40 since mid-October and now have 6500 miles. No problems whatsoever. Sunday night the "Check Engine" light came (and stayed) on. I guessed that it wasn't the gas cap issue because I was at 1/4 tank and hadn't been to the gas station in a week.

Monday morning I took it in to the D.C. dealer's service department. They first checked the gas cap, but said that it must be some other problem - but that it was emmissions related and that the car was still driveable. They later called to say that a hose had to be relocated.

Today I picked up the car. The service statement says,

"Customer states check engine light (malfunction indicator) lamp illuminates. Technician found DTC's ECM65. Rerouted and refit evap valve."

Everything now seems fine. There was no charge. The work was under warranty.

However, what happened? What are DTC's ECM65? What is an Evap Valve, and why does it need to be rerouted on a 6-month old car?

All's well that ends well, but I just curious...
