low humming sound from front wheel V70-XC70

2002 XC70 with 180k mi, I am getting the kind of humming sound others have described as having an off-road baja tire on the car.
I have had wheel bearing problems on other cars, but they seemed to be dependent on the wheel turning and steering.
This low humming was in a straight line and changed with the speed of the car. Would that still point to a front wheel bearing, or is there something else in the drive line that could do it?
