glove box lock f****d up... 850 93

I have just taken apart my locking mechanism after finally getting my broken lock undone...the tiny metal pin that pushes the "latch" open to release the door of the glove box has snapped off...it appears to be made of the notorious white metal, so any spot brazing or welding-type things are out of the question. So before I call the dealer and order a new one, anybody have any suggestions?
