I forgot to mention one thing - and I hate to brag. There is only one car I like much better than my brick (and I love my brick). That car is my 1986 524 turbo diesel BMW. Let me tell you, that is some car - dependable is an understatement, and yes, fast too - not to mention 36 mpg. Sorry about the bragging. I'll close by reiterating that I love my 1993 850 GLT with 143,000 miles. Volvos are one of the easiest cars to work on - nice simple mechanical design. Have you ever seen how complicated some of the Japanese cars are? Vacuum lines everywhere.
