My fuel door release failed a while ago and I had to pry it open breaking the catch. I squirted some silicone spray into the mechanism and worked it back and forth, but it would not open.
Yesterday, I went to the pick and pull and picked up one off a 2000 V70 along with the D-pillar speakers, and a grill piece where I don't have fog lamps. I snapped in the grill and speakers.
When I got home, I checked out the "new" fuel door release motor and it worked fine. Then I removed the old one and checked it out to find it works fine too. Go figure!
As soon as I get the new lock pin from the dealer, I expect to have a fully operational fuel door. Now if I could just get my side mirrors and rear door window working, I'd be happy. At least for a while.
As always, thanks for all the help you give.
