Tips on head gasket change V70-XC70 1998

After having my 98 XC70 on blocks for three years I finally decided to put about $1000 into it to change the head gasket and buy some other parts like a upgraded coil, wires, new silicon vacuum lines, etc. I have it taken apart now and have several questions:

1)Is there a good diagram or pictures of how the vacuum hoses go? (I started taking it apart three years ago, and forgot the routings on them :(

2)I have already ordered remanufactured heads from Clearwater and am in the cleaning stage while waiting for the heads and parts from IPD. The intake manifold degreased really well, but it doesn't have that bright shiny new look. Does anyone recommend a product that might brighten up the finish?

3)Should I paint the turbo and exhaust manifolds with the hi-temp black paint? Or will it just burn off.

4)Is there anything I should be worried about having the car sit for three years? I am thinking about dropping the gas tank and draining it for new gas, and changing the fuel filter. I'm also guessing the battery is shot by now, but plan on putting on a trickle charger for a week or so.

5) Any other comments or hints for reassembly would be appreciated.
