Is "deionized" water OK to mix with coolant? 850 96

Hi, after an unfortunate and rather violent encounter with a big chunk of ice, my radiator was retired this week and a new one was installed. Since then, I drove about 50 miles. Today the "coolant low" indicator flashed a few times. This was probably caused by residual air bubbles that finally made it through the cooling system and lowered a bit the coolant level (it has happened to me before). I plan to top-up the coolant with water and monitor the coolant level carefully. Does anybody know if "deionized" water (which is readily available to me) is good enough. The Haynes manual mentions distilled water, but I think it may be overkill, and I don't want to make a useless extra trip to get either some coolant or some distilled water.

Thanks.
