I have an S60 AWD vehicle which I have to be careful each time I pull up onto my driveway for fear that the exhaust system mounting bracket clips the driveway where it levels out after the short incline from the street. My driveway is approximately 18 inches above the street. My house is a standard track house with a standard driveway. When the exhaust system mounting bracket is clipped it bends towards the exhaust pipe and on two occasions it needed to be replaced. I cannot drive onto the driveway with more than two adults of average weight for fear that I will damage the car. It appears that the 2006 S60 was originally designed as a front wheel drive and the AWD was an after thought by the design engineer who just added the driveshaft decreasing the clearance between the car and street rather than redesigning the body to accommodate the drive shift. I am a Life Member of the SAE and have spent my career in manufacturing other than in automotive field. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
