The weirdest stuff is coming off my windows inside. I have never seen anything like it. It appears to be a thin film of wax-like or plastic coating, and is deteriorating in blotches from the inside surface of all the windows. This vision obscuring material is quite soluble in organic solvents like white gas, and poorly soluble in water and Windex-type cleaners. I spent about 1 hour getting it off my front passenger side window and then quit. Removal does not seem to affect the tint of the window. I had thought that this was kid goo left by the previous owner. I must conclude that it is really Volvo goo deliberately applied for some strange and arcane Volvo reason. Likely it is to confound poor volvophiliacs already spent from chasing things that go clunk and thump, and brake rotors that warp when looked at sideways. Any ideas on how to identify this material short of mass spectroscopy, and how to remove it without using a four-inch angle grinder?
Thanks
