O.K. getting desperate here. Still cannot get the CEL to stay off so I can run a PA emissions test. I am driving illegally now since Aug. 30th.
My latest effort had me take the car to a Volvo dealer to utilize their fancy diagnostic machine (VST). Their result is as follows:
CHECKED AND FOUND CODE EFI-346 (Rear O2 sensor compensation counter error)
They performed a smoke test on the intake and found the PCV O-ring leaking.
The dealer recommended the following:
AT INTAKE TUBE, RECOMMEND REPLACING THE PCV HOUSING O-RING AND VACUUM LINE AND POSSIBLY THE INTAKE TUBE. ALSO NOTED THE VACUUM ELBOW AT INTAKE (RIGHT SIDE) IS SOFT, BUT NOT LEAKING YET. (The dealer wanted $360 to do the previous)
Here is what I replaced so far:
PCV O-RING
FRESH AIR INTAKE TUBE
I don't know which vacuum line the dealer is talking about to replace and I am not sure what the vacuum elbow at the intake (RS) means. Maybe the vacuum line is the item that is causing me the issue.
(At the one end of the PCV hard black plastic elbow there are two lines going somewhere down under the engine, where I can't see. One large diameter hose and one skinny one)
Any help with this would be most appreciated at this time.
P.S. My wife wants me to sell the car because of this CEL. :) LOL
